July showers bring lots of flowers....and raspberries, snap peas and more and more lovely green veg. This rain has the farm looking FRESH- The fields are starting to burst with herbs, lettuces galore, alllllll the kale, snap peas, carrots, beets, zucchini and more while the greenhouses are loaded with tomatoes and eggplant of every shape and colour. Summer eating is so tasty when you have such a range of tasty veg to choose from!
Tara in the raspberries!
The shop this weekend will be stocked with raspberries from the farm, fresh tomatoes, the first of the carrots, and of course so many greens. New in the shop this week is yummy organic saucisson sec from Fou du Cochon in Kamouraska and a goat cheddar from Fromagerie du Vieux St-François. Add some fresh tomatoes, cucumber and carrots from the farm and call it a meal!
Our friends from Ferme et Forêt will be here on Sunday from 11-2 baking their wonderful granola, bring your own container to fill directly and save $2 off the retail price. The shop itself is open Friday 1-5pm and Saturday and Sunday 10-3pm
Napa as big as your head! Thanks Tim for doing your best Vanna White :)
CSA is well underway! We offer a Greens Share to our members as an add on option to compliment their box each week. We're happy to announce that we're now bagging this share in brown bags to reduce our use of plastic. A quick rinse and spin and into the fridge in a sealed container and you're good to go!
The hollyhocks have taken over the farm house!
Willow bringing in the Dino!
Eggplant with yogurt dill sauce and currants from Ottolenghi's 'Plenty'
What to do with that lovely eggplant in your share or picked up from the farm store? If you're not already part of our members only Facebook Group here is the link. So many great recipes being shared including this one. Yum!
Also we've made bit of a habit of covering the baby with farm flowers in our spare time. He doesn't seem to mind. Anne Geddes eat your heart out!
Ally pretty pumped about the raspberries, they're so darn good!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
