So you're thinking about signing up for 4 or 8 weeks of wintery goodness, but you're not sure what that entails? Read on! We will be accepting winter share members until Monday the 17th! (thats one week from today!)
What's in the share??
Compared to last year, we have a real abundance of crops to share with you. IN the winter share you will get the following items every week:
Micro greens 125 grams (double bag)
Carrots
Potatoes
Onions
Garlic
Most weeks you'll also get
Cabbage
Squash
Spinach (last two weeks)
And depending on your preference you'll receive:
Beets
Parsnips
Turnip
Rutabaga
Winter radish
Celeriac
What if I don't want some of that stuff??!!
Like in the fall share, you'll get the chance to tell us your preferences of things you'd like more of or none of, and we will modify your basket each week to suit those preferences. As you go through the share, you can change your preferences as you go, if you all of a sudden develop a hankering for Rutabaga, say. Unlike the fall share, our team will have all of the veggies available every single week to make sure you still get a great variety regardless of your preferences!
Where will it be delivered?
Winter shares can be picked up at delivery sites in Westboro, Ottawa South, in Chelsea, and at the Farm. We also offer home delivery in Ottawa Centre, Ottawa East, and Ottawa West. The precise boundaries are indicated on the signup page.
When are deliveries?
Delivery will be on Wednesday or Thursday.
Wednesday is: Ottawa Centre and Ottawa East home delivery and the Chelsea and Ottawa South pickup locations.
Thursday is Westboro and the Farm pickup locations and Ottawa West home delivery.
What else can I get?
You'll have access to the entire Roots and Shoots Farmstore along with your CSA discount of 5% off all items, and some sweet sales as well!
